My chickie babies sleeping in Solo Papaya seedlings. Solo (left), Hazel (center) and Basil (right) 7-17-12, about a week old.
Hazel (hen) and Basil (rooster) 11-21-12, Solo is happy at the farm. Unlike the other chicks that slept in a cage until ready to perch on trees, these 2 went from sleeping in a cage, to a box and now perching on wood that holds up the clothes line. Seems they don’t want to sleep in a tree yet.
Henney and Henley climbing up Star Apple tree to perch for the night.
These Red Star hens were flown in about 2 years ago from Hawai’i when they were chickies in a crate full of chickies to provide lots of fresh eggs at the family farm.
We brought Henney and Henley home for the chicken tractor in our backyard garden and for fresh eggs.
